Diving in the UK always presents an array of challenges depending on conditions, but fancy a different kind of challenge??

The kind of environment where it really is warmer in the water, well ice diving could be just the thing.  You get the chance to explore the unique aquascape found only under ice and become one of the few that have ever dived under a solid ceiling of ice.  You might get a chance to play with your exhaled air bubbles on the bottom of the ice or an opportunity to try the unique sport of upside down football!!!

As well as warmer water Red Sea Diving Trips the dive centre is also organising an Ice Diving Trip from 13th - 20th February 2011.  It doesn’t matter where you have been ice diving before or not as for those who haven’t you’ll complete the PADI Ice Diving Speciality Course where you’ll learn

• To plan and organize ice dives
• Reasons and opportunities for ice diving,
• Equipment considerations
• About site selection, preparation and hole-cutting procedures
• How to practice the procedures and techniques for handling the problems and hazards of ice diving
• To use specialized ice diving equipment, safety lines, signals, communications, line tending and line-securing techniques
• How to manage equipment problems
• About the effects of cold, emergency procedures and safety-diver procedures

For those of you who have it’s a chance to explore the underwater world under the ice again.
